The previously unknown purpose of the "Ninth Chevron" is revealed, and ends up taking a team to an Ancient ship "Destiny", a ship built millions of years ago by the Ancients, used to investigate a mystery as old as time itself. This team, led by Dr. Nicolas Rush and Colonel Everett Young, is trapped on the ship, unable to change its programmed mission. The team encounters new races, new technology and new enemies as the runaway ship travels to the far ends of the Universe.

Most shows don't get the feel of the place (we won't even speak of that CSI show), but this one seems to be doing it right so far. And talk about someone coming out of left field: Where did this amazing guy Matt Passmore come from? Because I know he is Australian, I'll forgive his lack of a Chicago accent, but he has developed such an interesting and believable character (thank you also, writers) and is such a charismatic lead. After Lost, I never thought I could appreciate Kiele Sanchez in anything, but I am enjoying her performance as well. Now that the crew members of Destiny have encountered aliens on Stargate Universe, their mission is drastically more dangerous. "These creatures are not that happy that we have invaded their little corner of the universe," says David Blue, who plays computer geek Eli. "Destiny is an incredibly important part of something that we haven't quite picked up on yet. So, I think it's going to piss the aliens off that they have lost control of something important.
