The medical drama "Pure Genius" follows the inner life of Bunker Hill, a private hospital where a team of doctors strive for innovation and medical breakthroughs. James Bell (Augustus Prew) is a billionaire with a rare and fatal disease who has become devoted to helping people like himself, so he decides to build and fund his own hospital. He hires doctors and researchers who he believes can help with his mission. Among them: genius surgeon Dr. Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney); pessimistic Dr. Zoe Brockett (Odette Annable); neurosurgeon Dr. Talaikha Channarayapatra (Reshma Shetty); altruistic Dr. Malik Verlaine (Aaron Jennings); neurologist Dr. Scott Strauss (Ward Horton); and 3-D printing expert Angie Cheng (Brenda Strong). During the first season, the team deal with risky pregnancies, terminal cancer patients, multiple organ transplants, remote surgeries and James' own disease.
