It is produced by Attention Span Media, a Los Angeles based social media studio and is a 2008 Webby Honoree for Best Writing and Comedy: Individual Short or Episode. The classical TV series Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra was created by world-renowned orchestra conductor Leonard Bernstein, in 1960. Bernstein created the show for the purpose of exposing young viewers, mainly school-aged children, not just to European classical music, but to various kinds of orchestral instruments as well. It was a weekly show on CBS, and then PBS picked up the show in 1972. On November 4, 2008 Young Person's Guide to History first aired in its entirety, in honor of election night; after that night Young Person's Guide to History did not air again until July 4, 2010.
