The WB Is Back, with Gilmore Girls and More!
Two years after signing off the airwaves, the WB is returning with new programming — as well as some of its most memorable series — but not on TV. According to an article in the Hollywood Reporter, the Warner Bros. Television Group is reviving the network as a website, where viewers will be able to watch free streaming episodes of Gilmore Girls, What I Like About You and Everwood, as well as all other WB-produced shows. New Angel Comic Goes to Hell
There's life after the apocalypse. Angel fans will finally find out what transpired after the cult show's 2004 finale, as the sexy vampire (played on TV by David Boreanaz) and his team faced down the armies of Hell. Buffyverse creator Joss Whedon has approved a monthly comic-book series that's basically Angel: Season 6, says Chris Ryall, publisher and editor in chief of IDW Publishing, which launches the first issue Wednesday. A repeat from early in the season, but since I hadn't seen it, it was new to me — and that's almost as good as it not being a rerun. Plus, Amy Acker was on, playing a sweet mother to a son who's suffering from posttraumatic stress. Her cute little accent reminded me of when she first showed up on Angel as a goodie-goodie before transforming into the evildoer she later became and the troublemaker she is now portraying on Alias. It was nice to see her flip back to good Amy. Really shows off her range! Plus, she totally charmed me when she told Sam to tell his friend "this whole Jerry Maguire thing isn't going to work on me." SmallvilleParanoid much, Clark? I loved this episode. We got delusional Clark. Clark on acid, or in this case, silver kryptonite. Plus, we got lots of our favorite teach, Professor Fiiiine. So when the professor was schooling us on the powerful men who were betrayed by their best friends, you just knew we were in for a doozy of an episode. And thanks to the silvery meteor rock, Clark saw his best friend, Chloe, betray him. His dad betray him. And even his girlfriend Lana betray him. Like kissing-Lex-Luthor betray him. All these paranoid delusions resulted in one seriously ticked off, and might I add, sweaty-faced Clark. Our guy at the San Diego Comic-Con reports that Angel alumna Charisma Carpenter's character will be "a bitch in a bikini," as a sexy stepmother to brothers Dick and Beaver Casablancas. Spike and Angel Rise from Grave
Cancelation, like death, doesn't seem to stop vampires. Characters from three defunct Joss Whedon series — Buffy, Angel and Firefly — are being resurrected this summer in comic-book form. First up, on June 29 is Angel: The Curse, IDW Publishing's five-part story set after the events of last year's apocalyptic series finale. The story finds Angel in Romania searching for the Gypsy tribe that cursed him with a soul a century ago.
