David Boreanaz Hints at an Angel Reunion for Series' 20th Anniversary

Get excited, Angel fans! David Boreanaz just gave us an interesting little tease about the upcoming 20th anniversary of the show's premiere that's put us all on high alert!

"We're coming up on our 20 years," Boreanaz mentioned during a recent appearance on The Talk. "That's amazing to have been blessed with a show like that. That's really where I started my gig in this acting world. I love that character. So I will say there may be something coming up. I don't want to give away a lot. It's 20 years coming up this fall, and we may have something in the works."

Talk about leaving us wanting more! It's impossible to say just what is in the works here, but in all likelihood it's probably a reunion panel. The annual ATX Television Festival is known for hosting these kinds of events, and we couldn't help but notice the fest's Twitter account did respond to star Charisma Carpenter when she tweeted, in February, about the show's upcoming anniversary.

Of course, another possibility is a secret video project to celebrate the occasion. We won't get our hopes up for a full-on revival or reboot since that would be aiming a little too high, but the sky is really the limit here!

Boreanaz played Angel, the tortured vampire with a soul (known as Angelus without his soul), for three seasons on Buffy the Vampire Slayerbefore the beloved character got his own self-titled spin-off. The series followed Angel's mission to save innocents from supernatural baddies in Los Angeles with the help of his own team of Buffy alums and newbies, which included Cordelia Chase (Carpenter), Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (Alexis Denisof), Winifred "Fred" Burkle (Amy Acker), Charles Gunn (J. August Richards), and eventually even Spike (James Marsters).

Though an Angel reboot is obviously unlikely, Boreanaz did recently voice his support for the Buffy reboot in the works."Come on, guys... It's a good thing. Let's just embrace [it]," he said to skeptical fans at New York Comic Con. "I'm very happy for them. They want to embrace a new generation, something new. ... I think it's a great opportunity for a reboot like this to show where we are with society now, what you can do with technology. How you can explore those relationships with the same kinds of metaphors. I'm all for it. I think it's fantastic. Good for them. I hope that it becomes huge and successful, and does what it does."

Angel is currently streaming on Hulu.
