Where The Big Bang Theory is going, it won't need roads.

Christopher Lloyd, best known as mad scientist Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, will guest star on the Dec. 1 episode of the CBS sitcom, TVGuide.com has learned.

No other details about his character or storyline are available at this time. But considering other science-nerdy guest stars The Big Bang Theory has had in the past, like Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff, and of course Star Trek: The Next Generationactor Wil Wheaton's frequent appearances as a fictionalized version of himself, it's likely that Lloyd will reference Back to the Future in his appearance, if he doesn't play himself. Maybe Sheldon (Jim Parsons) will take him to task for his pronunciation of "gigawatt."

Lloyd is also a two-time Emmy winner for his role as Reverend Jim Ignatowski on the '70s sitcom Taxi.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
