Ted Williams Reunites With Mother, Accepts Multiple Job Offers

Ted Williams, the 53-year-old homeless man with a "voice of gold," has had an overwhelming week: After being plucked off the streets, he reunited with his mom after 10 years and has been fielding numerous job offers.

"I wanted a nerve pill yesterday, to be honest with you," Williams said of his whirlwind week on Friday's Early Show.

A panhandler from Ohio, Williams became an Internet sensation earlier this week after the Columbus Dispatch posted a video of him. He has since appeared on NBC's Today Wednesday and then again Thursday after he was reunited with his mom, Julia Williams.

"Hi, Mommy. Hi, Mommy," Williams cried when he saw his 90-year-old mother.  "I'm home. I told you I was coming this year. I don't look the best, but I'm home."

During their joint appearance Thursday, Williams said she told her son, "Don't disappoint me. Hold your life together."

Williams says he began drinking and using drugs in 1996. As a result, he lost his radio job and his home.

In the last week, the Brooklyn-born man has recorded a commercial for Kraft, voiced an MSNBC promo and is even being pursued by the Cleveland Cavaliers to do announcing work.
