Oscar Nominations 2019: See the Full List

Alfonso Cuarón's Netflix release Romaand the black comedy The Favourite led all films at Tuesday's 91st annual Academy Award nominations with 10 nods each, including citations for best picture.

black-ishstar Tracee Ellis Ross and The Big Sickactor Kumail Nanjiani delivered this year's full list of Oscar nominees early Tuesday (watch their awesome performance above; make them the Oscars hosts!), teeing up what is sure to be a competitive race for film's biggest prizes when the Academy Awards air on ABC next month.

Roma and The Favourite were joined in the best picture category by Black Panther (making the Marvel film the first-ever superhero movie nominated for Oscars' top honor), Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman (which also netted Lee two other nominations, for director and adapted screenplay, as well as a nod for costar Adam Driver in supporting actor), Bohemian Rhapsody (which grabbed a nomination for star Rami Malek), the controversial Green Book (which earned costar Mahershala Ali a nod for supporting actor, but failed to feature in the best director category), A Star Is Born (which also received acting nominations for stars Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga and Sam Elliot; Cooper was snubbed in the directing category) and Vice (nominations for stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Sam Rockwell, plus Adam McKay for director).

While many of the nominations aligned with precursors and predictions, there were still plenty of shocks on Tuesday. Chief among them Cooper's snub in the best director category, a nomination many considered a fait accompli. Other surprise ommissions included Ethan Hawke in the best actor category (for his performance in First Reformed), Bo Burnham's Eighth Grade (which was expected to factor in the best original screenplay category) and the documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor?, about Fred Rogers.
