Olympics: What to Watch on Day 7 --- Men's Free Skate; Bode Miller's Title Defense

Day 7 of the Winter Olympics on Friday features the men's figure skating free skate and Bode Miller's title defense in the super combined. Here's what you should watch (all times ET).
The 411 on the 12 new Winter Olympic events
All events are live-streamed at NBCOlympics.com. Friday's tape-delayed daytime coverage (3 p.m., NBC) includes biathlon and freestyle skiing. Tape-delayed prime-time coverage (8 p.m., NBC) includes alpine skiing, skeleton and figure skating.
Figure skating, men's free skate
When: 10 a.m. on NBC Sports (live); 8 p.m. on NBC (tape delay)
The drama-filled short skate ended with the usual suspects at the top: Japan's Yuzuru Hanyu, who became the first skater to break 100 points in the short program with his score of 101.45, Canada's three-time reigning world champ Patrick Chan, who's four points behind. Neither country has ever had an Olympic men's figure skating gold medalist. Look for the quad-free Jason Brown of the U.S. to win over the crowd with his notorious "Riverdance" routine.
Olympic stars to watch
Alpine skiing, men's super combined
When: Downhill — 1 a.m., slalom — 6:30 a.m. (live); 8 p.m. on NBC (tape delay)
After failing to medal in the downhill, Bode Miller will try to defend his Vancouver title. He's been looking good in training runs, but we all know how that turned out for him in the downhill. His biggest competition is fellow American Ted Ligety, the 2006 champ and reigning world champion in the discipline — one of three golds he won at worlds last year. Two-time combined world champ Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway and French upstart Alexis Pinturault will offer big resistance.
Skeleton, women's individual
When: 10:40 a.m. (live); 8 p.m. on NBC (tape delay)
American Noelle Pikus-Pace will try to finish her long, winding career with an Olympic medal. The overwhelming favorite for Torino, she missed the Games after an errant bobsled broke her right leg, finished in fourth in Vancouver and retired before deciding to give it one last go. She sits in second place after the first two runs, 0.44 seconds behind Brit and this season's World Cup champ Lizzy Yarnold.
