Paulson will portray McCain's ambitious and wholesome senior campaign adviser Nicolle Wallace. MacNicol will step into the role of McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis, who oversaw all campaign strategy.
Julianne Moore cast as Sarah Palin for HBO
HBO oreleased the first photo from the upcoming HBO film, which focuses on the 2008 presidential race, Wednesday. Julianne Moore will headline the TV movie as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Game Change also stars Ed Harris as Sen. John McCain, Ron Livingston as campaign adviser Mark Wallace, and Woody Harrelson as senior adviser Steve Schmidt.
Justin Gaston (Miley Cyrus' ex) will play Levi Johnston. Temple Grandin actress Melissa Farman has also been cast as Bristol Palin, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jay Roach is directing the film, which was written by Danny Strong. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are executive producers. Production is scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
