The Los Angeles County coroner's office has completed its autopsy on Michael Jackson, but the results will be withheld pending the outcome of the police investigation into the singer's death.
"The LAPD has requested that the Jackson autopsy findings regarding the cause and manner of death remain confidential," police said in a statement. "The extension of security measures will help maintain the integrity of the investigation and allow investigators from LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division, as well as our partner law enforcement agencies to continue their investigation."

Los Angeles police and federal Drug Enforcement Administration officials have focused on Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, in its investigation. In the past month, authorities have searched the home and medical offices of Murray for "evidence of the offense of manslaughter." Murray was with Jackson when emergency workers were called to the pop legend's home.Though the autopsy has wrapped, there is still no official word on Jackson's burial. The singer's body has been temporary listed at L.A.'s Forest Lawn Memorial Park and no amended death certificate has been filed, the Associated Press reports. A Forest Lawn spokesman also declined to say if Jackson's body was still there or if he would be permanently laid to rest there.Meanwhile, the legal battle over Jackson's estate continues. On Monday, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff delayed his ruling by a week on whether to approve several merchandising contracts after Jackson's mother, Katherine, raised concerns. The potential deals are between concert promoter AEG and merchandiser Bravado. Beckloff already approved a movie deal that would allow Columbia Pictures to piece together a feature-length film of the singer's final rehearsal footage.

Beckloff has also appointed Margaret Lodise as the "guardian ad litem" (or "legal guardian") of Jackson's three children, Prince Michael I, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and Prince Michael II (aka "Blanket"), 7, citing possible conflicting interests between them and their grandmother. Katherine Jackson was named the children's guardian last week, but not their guardian for their interest in the singer's estate. All four are beneficiaries of the estate, which is overseen by attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain.
