Elliot Rodger, 22, stabbed three men fatally in his apartment in Isla Vista, Calif., before going on a shooting rampage that left three more people dead and 13 injured. Rodger was later found dead from a gunshot wound in his car.
According to Peter Rodger's attorney, the family had contacted police about Elliot several weeks prior to the shooting. He also confirmed that Elliot had been seeing a social worker and therapists recently. Just prior to the murders, Rodgers uploaded a 7-minute video to YouTube where he stated, "It all has to come to this... After I've annihilated every single girl in the sorority house, I'll take to the streets of Isla Vista and slay every single person I see there."
Henry T. Yang, the chancellor of UCSB, issued a statement Saturday, saying, "We grieve for the precious lives lost, and we share in the heartbreak of their families, friends, and classmates."
