NBC will launch its search for the next big designer with a new reality competition series, Fashion Star. "Who better to host then Elle Macpherson — her impeccable fashion sense and 30 years of experience building her eponymous brand are tremendous assets to the show and the designers," Paul Teledgy, NBC's executive vice president of alternative programming, said in a statement.
Fashion Star will be produced by Magical Elves (Top Chef, Project Runway), and Electus, the Ben Silverman-led company behind Biggest Loser. Macpherson will executive produce along with 5X5 Media, E.J. Johnston and James Deutch.
