Chris Rock will be in talented company for Fargo's fourth season.
On Thursday, FX released the list of stars joining Fargo Season 4, which begins production this fall in Chicago, along with their extremely quirky character names.
Alongside the previously announced Rock, Season 4 of Fargo will star Jack Huston as Odis Weff, Jason Schwartzman as Josto Fadda, Ben Whishaw as Rabbi Milligan, Jessie Buckley as Oraetta Mayflower, Salvatore Esposito as Gaetano Fadda, Andrew Bird as Thurman Smutney, Jeremie Harris as Leon Bittle, Gaetano Bruno as Constant Calamita, Anji White as Dibrell Smutney, Francsco Acquaroli as Ebal Violante, E'myri Crutchfield as Ethelrida Pearl Smutney, and Amber Midthunder as Swanee Capps.
The new season will be set in Kansas City in 1950 as Southern Europeans immigrate to American cities and African-Americans move north to escape the Jim Crow South. There, two crime families have brokered a peace agreement over their control the economy of drug sales and other illicit activities by trading their youngest sons.
Rock stars as the head one of those households who has had to give up his youngest son and raise the child of his enemy. Once the head of the Kansas City mafia dies after a routine surgery gone wrong though, everything changes.
As the new season's logline tells us, "It's a story of immigration and assimilation, and the things we do for money. And as always, a story of basically decent people who are probably in over their heads. You know, Fargo."
Creator and showrunner Noah Hawley will direct the first episode of the new season.
Fargo Season 4 will premiere on FX in 2020.
