Oates is a British astronomer trying to contact aliens who gets more than he bargained for. The building he's working in, as well as its inhabitants, gets beamed across the galaxy to another planet. They are exposed to a savage race that was formerly a civilized colony. The symbolism seems clear: here's what could happen to our dear planet Earth if we're not careful. Second-rate special effects and tame direction don't add up to much in this run-of-the-galaxy science-fiction venture.
