The Stud Reviews

When Collins made it big in the television series "Dynasty," everyone rushed out to get still shots from this film to use in one magazine or another. THE STUD was kept all in the family: it was based on Collins' sister Jackie's book and produced by Joan's then-husband Ron Kass. Too mild to qualify as soft-core pornography, the film suffers from an implausible story line that makes it of little interest to audiences generally. Collins uses her sexual control over nightclub manager Tobias, who runs the club owned by her husband. If Tobias wants to keep his job, he must keep Collins and others satisfied. This first-time film by Brent Walker Film Productions was made on a budget of $1 million, most of which appears to have been spent on set design. Followed by THE BITCH, 1979.
