The Spiral Staircase Reviews

This anemic remake of the 1946 thriller wastes the talents of Bisset and Plummer. Bisset is a mute nurse (luckily saving her from mumbling the inane dialog) who is caring for an old invalid. Lurking in the house, however, is a crazed killer. None of this is at all scary, especially since it is set in the densely populated suburbs instead of the isolated house of the original version, a film that should not have been remade in the first place.
