Garner is a fashion photographer on assignment in a South American village who, along with model Renzi, is stranded when eccentric adventurer Kennedy steals his helicopter. After reporting the theft to the local authorities, Garner and Renzi bump into Kennedy, who has crashed the whirlybird. Kennedy informs them that he is searching for a lost diamond mine, and the photographer and model join him. Soon they meet up with Green, an untrustworthy Australian who intends to take the loot for himself. Seeing his chance, Green leaves the trio stranded in the desert and takes off with the map to the mine and the supplies. Eventually Kennedy catches up to Green and kills him. When the trio finally makes it to the mine, they discover that a rival troupe of treasure seekers led by Ansara has already found the diamond. A fight ensues, Ansara is captured, and the rest of his gang is killed or run off. Kennedy grabs the diamonds and steals another helicopter for his getaway. Ansara is discovered to be a revolutionary leader who was going to use the diamonds to further his political cause, and Garner reveals himself to be a CIA agent. Garner turns Ansara over to the authorities and then goes off in pursuit of Kennedy.
