Tex Ritter plays an undercover railroad detective, out to foil a crooked rancher and reform a young outlaw called The Shooting Kid (Charles B. Wood). Laddie Dennison: Ruth Rogers. Marshal Martin: Hal Price. Speed Dennison: Keene Duncan. Drifter: Roy Barcroft.

Ritter, in one of his best entries, goes under cover to help out a rancher. He finds out that Barcroft is behind a plot to buy up valuable railroad land at less than generous prices. Ritter does a good turn for Wood but is let down by the ungrateful punk. Wood comes around in the end, however, to aid in Barcroft's defeat amidst some gutsy and hard-hitting gunplay.
