In 1995, Dolly Parton started Imagination Library, an initiative that gifts books to children aged 0 to 5 in an effort to boost literacy. Since then, the organization has sent over a million books to children in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Ireland. The documentary film The Library That Dolly Built centers on the founding and evolution of this organization through intimate interviews with book authors, staff, and Dolly herself.
