The Brides of Fu Manchu Reviews

The evil Dr. Fu Manchu (this time Christopher Lee, in his second outing as this character) kidnaps the nubile daughters of government leaders in an effort to amass enough capital in ransom money to build a huge ray gun and take over the world. His ambitious plan is, of course, foiled, in the last minute, but not before the mean-spirited doctor threatens, "You will hear from me again!" Oh, we will, we will. The film's best performance is offered by Tsai Chin, repeating her part as Manchu's evil daughter. The pedestrian screenplay is out of tune with the times, but Lee's performance, while not as good as those of Warner Oland or Boris Karloff, is delightfully evil.
