The Birds and the Bees Reviews

Lots of good, solid comic performances and a pleasant script in which Ol' Lonesome George (who was a very hot TV star at the time) is a vegetarian. Trouble is that his dad, Clark, is a very important meat packer. Returning on a ship from a trip to the Dark Continent, George falls for Gaynor, who is part of a card-playing cadre of grifters. David Niven is Mitzi's dad and annoyed that she's fallen for this wimp. Bellaver tells George the truth about his loved one and George leaves Mitzi. Later, Mitzi gets an invite to the huge estate, reestablishes herself with George, they fall in love again after a number of twists and turns, most of them funny, and all ends well in this remake of the much superior THE LADY EVE.
