Something Special Reviews

This is the story of 14-year-old Milly Niceman (Pamela Segall), who envies boys, believing their lives are simpler and more interesting than those of girls. When her best friend's brother sells her some "eclipse powder," claiming it will allow her to realize her deepest, darkest heart's desire, Milly follows his instructions and becomes Willy. An enjoyable, low-key film, SOMETHING SPECIAL! boasts some fine acting from its teenage cast. Segall is good in both her female and male roles. As the parents, Duke and Glover go somewhat over the top, a rather unwelcome contrast to the reserve exercised by their younger colleagues.
