The flimsy story for this film involves the goings-on between two rival roadhouses. Actually this was little more than an excuse to pack nine songs into a little over an hour. Universal was known at this time for taking a hit song and giving it the thinnest of plots in order to create, it was hoped, a hit movie. The results here are pretty much what one would expect: long on musical delights and short on anything else.
