Constantine is a taxi driver who agrees to marry Versois, a French national, so that she can get British papers. He falls in love with her and, with the help of his fellow cabbies, rescues her from the gang that runs the marriage racket/white slave business so that he can really marry her. This was the first English-speaking film made with Constantine, who was already very popular in France and Germany in gangster parodies.
