Mr. Moto's Gamble Reviews

This was originally meant to be a "Charlie Chan" episode, but when Warner Oland became ill the studio decided to salvage what they could of the already-begun project, and it became MR. MOTO'S GAMBLE. Lorre is the teacher of a class for future sleuths. His students include Luke, the son of Charlie Chan, and Rosenbloom, a hopeless kleptomaniac. Lorre receives the assistance of both pupils as he solves the ring murder of a boxer, pinning the crime on the owner of the auditorium where the bout was held. The script is a well-blended combination of mystery and comedy, with Luke and Rosenbloom carrying most of the comedy.
