House of the Damned Reviews

It seems that any time circus freaks are incorporated into a horror film people get frightened. The same thing happens here, though most of the picture is pretty dull. Foster and wife Peters visit an old mansion, and something tries to scare them away. Naturally, they stay anyway. When Peters is decapitated, an enraged Foster does his best to get to the bottom of the mayhem. It turns out that the house is occupied by some relatively harmless circus freaks who simply want their institutionalized master to return. What's more, Peters wasn't really beheaded--it was just a circus trick to scare off Foster. Richard Kiel, who plays the giant here, went on to fame as Jaws in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME.
