God's Gift to Women Reviews

Poor Fay. He's got loads of trouble, since women just can't keep their hands off him. Of course, he's more than happy to honor their requests, until he meets millionairess La Plante. The amorous Frenchman falls for the beautiful American, but she'll have nothing to do with him. She and her father pay a doctor to tell Fay that one more kiss will mean death. Alas, La Plante means more to him than life itself and, in the film's best sequence, he kisses her despite the risk. Though it's a funny premise, the film just doesn't work. There are too many supporting characters, and gaps in the story suggest that some juicier sections were edited out by nervous producers. Still, Fay is fun and director Curtiz gives him free reign.
