Veteran cowboy star Franklyn Farnum played a soda jerk dreaming of becoming a movie cowboy in this low-budget silent oater produced by Jesse J. Goldburg's Independent Pictures. The only notable aspects of this routine effort were Franklyn's character name (Marmaduke Grandon) and the appearance of a young -- still brunette -- Jean Arthur in the feminine lead. Arthur did quite a few of these minor Westerns before finally receiving some notice as the ingenue in The Canary Murder case (1929). This Western was one of a handful helmed by Park Frame, who usually functioned as assistant director. He died of a heart attack on a train while scouting locations for a Warner Bros. movie in 1943.
