Colonel Effingham's Raid Reviews

Aging army colonel Coburn retires from the service and moves back to his small home town in Georgia. Unhappy to find that the townspeople have lost their civic pride and that the local government is trying to modernize the area, Coburn starts writing an editorial column in the town paper criticizing the apathetic people and the corrupt politicians who've taken over the town. When public opinion starts to sway in favor of Coburn's ideas, the town council tries to cool the old man's fire, but cub reporter Eythe keeps the colonel's spirits up, and they triumph over the crooked politicos. Charming little comedy that generates some good-natured patriotism and pride in small-town values.
