Chinatown at Midnight Reviews

This straightforward story of crime and punishment is a neat low-budget film. It has a heightened impact due to a documentary-like format and a sustained pace. The film takes place in Chinatown, where the police are concentrating their search for a killer, played by Hatfield (THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY). He kills two Chinese men while stealing some antique vases and knocks off his female accomplice when she threatens to squeal to the police. Most of the film is taken up with routine detective work, picking up clues, learning of Hatfield's whereabouts, and springing the trap.
