Caught in the Draft Reviews

In one of Bob Hope's best and funniest roles, he plays Don Gilbert, a Hollywood star trying to evade the draft during WW II. Tony Fairbanks (Dorothy Lamour) is the daughter of an Army colonel whom Don plans to marry in a scheme he thinks will keep him out of the service. The plot backfires and Don is dumped into a training camp. This situation evokes every laugh in the book as Hope's rapid-fire delivery makes a burlesque of every subject at hand--including the Army, love, and Hollywood--in 82 minutes of sustained zaniness.
