When someone attempts to car-jack control freak CEO Holden Downs (Nick Mancuso) in a parking garage, he sees to it himself that justice is served. Unfortunately, by beating up the culprit, Joey Breed (Michael Mahonen), Holden inadvertently stiffens the criminal resolve of Robert (Andrew Divoff), Joey's brother and partner. While Holden's wife Faye (Lindsay Hoffman) is away, Holden hires his nephew Buddy (Seth Peterson), a mechanical genius, to make his luxury vehicle as impregnable as his mansion. When Robert later breaks into Holden's spiffy car, he finds himself trapped. Triumphant, Holden toys with his captive by pumping up the volume on a heavy metal station, all night long. When he comes looking for his bro, Joey ends up in need of a body bag, leaving it to Robert to find a glitch in Buddy's system. Blending the gadgetry of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and the tacky menace of MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE, this Edsel of a thriller stretches its basic premise as thin as possible, but for anyone whose self-worth isn't based on owning a fancy automobile, what little plot there is will be too much. Basically, this is a macho pissing contest between two jerks who deserve to stay locked up in Holden's supercar, with only each other for company and the radio jammed to a station playing Dr. Laura.
