Bitter Creek Reviews

This is one of the better Elliott westerns, and it's due, in great part, to a fine script by George Waggner, who was also a respected film and TV director (THE WOLF MAN, many "Batman" episodes) and whose credit always read: George WaGGner. Elliott arrives in Bitter Creek trying to find out who killed his brother. Nobody wants to help Elliott since it seems that Young, one of the wealthier people in these parts, may have been behind the murder. Elliott investigates and Garland believes Young's protests of his total innocence. Later, she realizes the rancher is a liar, and she winds up with Elliott. This film has many of the best western second leads in it: Borg, who always played the hard-boiled blonde, Akins, and many more. The action never stops in the picture, except for some telling dialog. A fine example of how to make a good movie for little money.
