Another Man, Another Chance Reviews

Another romance from French director Claude Lelouch. Bujold plays a young French woman who flees Paris for America in 1870 with her boy friend to escape the Franco-Prussian War. The couple make their way out West, get married, have a baby, and set up a photography studio. One day her husband is killed by the angry father of a hanged man whom he had photographed. Her story is paralleled with that of American veterinarian Caan, who also lives in the West. His wife is raped and killed one evening when he is in town playing pool. Caan and Bujold finally meet and fall in love, though Caan is obsessed with finding his wife's killers. A slightly long but fascinating film that spans quite a few settings and genres.
