A Killing Affair Reviews

Though this film was shot in 1985, it didn't get a theatrical release until 1988, and then only a very limited one, before turning up on the video shelves. The film is set in the backwoods of West Virginia during WW II. When Baker's philandering husband (Smitrovich) is found murdered, a mysterious stranger (Weller) arrives on the scene and claims responsibility for the deed. He then holds Baker hostage in her isolated cabin as the two engage in some psychological gamesmanship. David Saperstein made his directorial debut with this film, and he does an adquate job of handling his talented cast. Though somewhat slow moving, the film does have some genuinely tense moments.
