A Day of Fury Reviews

Strange little oater starring Robertson as an aging gunfighter resisting the Old West's efforts to become civilized. The film opens as the gunslinger saves the life of town marshal Mahoney. Mahoney, who was to marry his sweetheart that day (former dance hall girl Corday), thanks the stranger and heads off to his wedding. The marriage is interrupted when Robertson rides into town, shoots the lock off the saloon door (it's Sunday), and sends for the dance hall girls who were sent packing to another county after the town decided to reform. Because he owes the gunslinger his life, Mahoney refrains from doing anything about the ruckus and even ignores the fact that Robertson has killed a man (apparently in self-defense). The townsfolk have just about had enough when Mahoney repays his debt by saving Robertson from receiving a bullet shot at him by Corday. Having settled all accounts, Mahoney then shoots it out with the outlaw, ridding the town of the menace.
