Psych: The Movie 2 will no longer debut on USA this year as expected. The upcoming sequel film, titled Psych 2: Lassie Come Home, will exclusively premiere on NBCUniversal's streaming service, Peacock, in 2020, TV Guide has confirmed.

Production on the film wrapped earlier this year, and it had previously been announced that the sequel would premiere on USA later in 2019. The first film debuted on Dec. 7, 2017, leading most fans to presume another winter release was in the works. However, on Tuesday, NBCUniversal announced that Psych: The Movie 2 will now be held until Peacock's launch in 2020, with the streaming service also becoming the exclusive home to old seasons of Psych.

Everything We Know About thePsych: The Movie Sequel

Moving Psych: The Movie 2 to Peacock is yet another strong incentive to subscribe to the service, which will also be the exclusive streaming home of The Office and Parks and Recreation. Peacock is also developing a strong slate of original programming, including the Alec Baldwin-led Dr. Death series and revivals of Saved by the Bell and Punky Brewster, and a Battlestar Galacticareboot.

Peacock is set to launch in April 2020.
