Clark Kent (Tom Welling) begins his training with Jor-El (Julian Sands) as the ninth season of the "Man of Steel" series begins. But before Clark can start Jor-El instructs him to return to Metropolis and cut ties with Lois (Erica Durance) so he can fully concentrate on the task before him. As Clark further embraces his destiny, he wears a new costume emblazoned with his family crest. At the Daily Planet, Lois meets new reporter John Corben (Brian Austin Green) who is trying to uncover the identity of the Blur when he is hit by a truck. When he awakens he discovers that he has been mysteriously transformed into Metallo, a man-machine with superhuman strength. Among the villains Clark faces are Icicle, the Toyman, Roulette and the Dark Archer.
