Lois Lane (Erica Durance) arrives in Smallville as the fourth season of the Teen of Steel series begins. Lois comes to town to investigate her cousin Chloe's death and discovers an amnesiac Clark (Tom Welling) in a cornfield after she veers off the road during a storm. She takes him to the hospital and meets Martha (Annette O'Toole), who's busy keeping watch over a severely injured Jonathan (John Schneider). Elsewhere, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) finds a new beau (Jensen Ackles) in Paris; Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) needs blood treatments to help keep himself alive; and Jor-El (Terence Stamp) warns Clark that the entire planet is in danger if the three sacred stones aren't reunited. Margot Kidder and Jane Seymour guest star.
