The adventures of the Teen of Steel continue in the show's enthralling second season that picks up where Season 1 ended with Smallville in the grips of a devastating twister. Fortunately, Clark (Tom Welling) is able to rescue Lana (Kristin Kreuk) from the storm, but he soon discovers that his dad is missing. And speaking of his dad, Clark's biological father Jor-El (Terence Stamp) makes an appearance, and Clark learns about his alien origins from physicist Virgil Swann (Christopher Reeve). Also, Clark tells Pete about his extraterrestrial powers; Lex impulsively marries a manipulative woman two weeks after he meets her; and Clark finally asks Lana out on a date, which infuriates a jealous Chloe (Allison Mack).
