Season 8 of the superhero series follows Clark Kent (Tom Welling) as he begins his newspaper career at the Daily Planet and develops romantic feelings for colleague Lois Lane (Erica Durance). He also starts to embrace his destiny as the world's savior, and battles Brainiac, Doomsday and Plastique. Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman), LuthorCorp's new CEO, arrives and enlists Clark's help to find the missing Lex Luthor, but Clark and Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) vigorously disagree over how to handle Lex should he resurface.
