Quiltmakers from an Alabama town tell the story of their bold, abstract works, which are seen on display at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The quilters are descended from slaves and practice a craft that's generations old. The hour also offers a thumbnail history of Gee's Bend, and includes comments from art historian Bill Arnett, who has championed the quilters. Their work, he says, "is abstracted from life."
