According to a just-released Nielsen study, the average U.S. household spent eight hours and 11 minutes a day in front of the boob tube from Sept. 2004 to Sept. 2005. That's an increase of 2.7 percent over last season and the most since such measurements began in the '50s. Hopefully, this means an end to that whole books/reading thing. What a painful period that was.
