TV Buff Samuel L. Jackson Inks Deal with CBS
Get a load of this mother----ing news. Samuel L. Jackson has signed a two-year, first-look deal with CBS Paramount Network TV, under which he will develop and exec-produce projects through his Uppity Films shingle. Jackson is also open to the occasional on-camera appearance à la Ugly Betty boss Salma Hayek (though presumably sporting less cleavage). Describing Jackson as a TV buff and "an incredibly versatile person," CBS Paramount TV president David Stapf tells Variety, "He will attract other really interesting artists and writers."CBS' executive ranks must not have too many snakes on board. — Matt Mitovich
