While some folks point to robins, daffodils and the Masters, it's hard to imagine a truer harbinger of spring than a fresh NCAA tourney pool on your desk when you arrive at work in the morning. March Madness perennials include some carping from the handful of teams who will have their bubbles burst when the 65-team field is announced and the annual debate concerning the team with the toughest route to the Final Four. —Dave Roeder

This ambitious mid-season drama, which kicks off tonight with a two-hour premiere, is a modern retelling of the classic tale of David and Goliath. Ian McShane plays the king of Gilboa, a relatively new nation that's struggling to maintain peace. Christopher Egan plays David, a young soldier who gains national attention when he unknowingly rescues the king's son. And while this act is celebrated by the king at first, he soon realizes the power David has gained on the national stage...and he's none too pleased. —Brie Hearn
Big Love

Nicki's deceptive nature has been evident since Day One, but now that Ray has plumbed the depths of her trickery, has she gone too far? And does she actually think Alby can save her? Hey, Nicki, if you're in a hole, stop digging. Speaking of calculating characters, Cindy appears to have found a way to really stick it to Barb, in a scene, incidentally, that has incurred the wrath of Mormon officials, who have criticized HBO for depicting a sacred ceremony deemed off-limits for public consumption. —Joe Friedrich
Roast of Larry the Cable Guy

Larry the Cable Guy is known for his "Git-R-Done!" catchphrase, but one wonders if another of his go-to lines, "I don't care who you are, that's funny right there," will apply when the jokes are aimed at him. And with Lisa Lampanelli serving as Roastmaster, you can bet that the barbs will be as blue as the redneck-of-honor's collar. Other roasters include Greg Giraldo, Jeff Foxworthy, Toby Keith, Maureen McCormick, Warren Sapp, Gary Busey and Jeffrey Ross. —Joe Friedrich

It looks like Tommy's opting to go out with guns blazing, but after last week's spontaneous combustion at what was arguably the worst Walker dinner party ever — and there have been some doozies — it also appears that it matters not a lick to him if his family gets caught in the crossfire. So while not even a slap from Nora could knock some sense into Tommy, tonight Kevin and Justin take their bad-news brother on a spring-break type getaway to clear his head. —Joe Fredrich
