Spencer Pratt: "I'm a Fame Whore and I'll Never Grow Out of It"

Spencer Pratt is blaming his obsession with fame for the breakup of his marriage to Heidi Montag.

"I want every kind of press," Pratt tells People. "There's no way my love for fame and her love for puppies will ever work out successfully," he says.

The couple announced their separation in June 2010. They were married in April 2009 during their run on MTV's The Hills,.

Although many have called the split yet another Speidi stunt, the 26-year-old says the breakup is for real. "We love each other, but I'm a fame whore and I'll never grow out of it," he says. "She thought I'd burn out of this, but no, I'm still the same Spencer who went on The Hills to be famous."

Pratt, who was most recently seen crashing the Hills finale after-party, now calls himself an artist. "I have an easel and everything. I'm going for an art show and a gallery."
