After months of waiting and wondering, Pretty Little Liars's spooky spinoff Ravenswood (Tuesday at 9/8c on ABC Family) is finally here. In the ominous opener (which follows the bananas PLL Halloween episode), Tyler Blackburn's character Caleb Rivers decides to stick around the little town — which is about 90 minutes away from our beloved Rosewood — and finds that there are forces even more messed up than "A" in the new locale. Needless to say, we're hooked already.
TV Guide Magazine: What was your reaction when you were told Caleb was getting a spinoff?
Tyler Blackburn: At first I was just flattered by the idea. I was like, "thank you for even thinking about me!" Then I heard about the story and that the show was green-lighted, and it went from there.
TV Guide Magazine: How different is this from working on PLL?
Blackburn: There are some new muscles being worked. And there are new [mystical] elements that make Caleb go from being very logical to "What the hell is going on?!"
TV Guide Magazine: Do you believe in ghosts?
Blackburn: I've had some experiences. It's one of those things where, as time passes, it becomes a little less real, like, "Did I really see that? Did that really happen?" But I am a believer.
TV Guide Magazine: How was it saying goodbye to the gang at PLL?
Blackburn: I cried, for sure. That show changed my life, and I'm close friends with the cast and crew. It wasn't easy.
TV Guide Magazine: With Caleb out of the PLL picture for now, who would you want Hanna (Ashley Benson) to be with next?
Blackburn: Um...Emily. [Laughs] They're such good friends and they're both hot. I'm gonna leave it at that. She can't be with another guy. Caleb is the only guy for her!
What do you think? Can Ravenswood keep up the PLL heat? And should Caleb be with someone else now that he's left town?
