Question: Were any of the Gilmore Girls stars at WB's upfront last Tuesday? — Mary Ann Ausiello: Nope. Lauren Graham was on vacation, Alexis Bledel was doing press for her new movie, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and Kelly Bishop had a scheduling conflict. It's just as well, considering the short shrift Frog execs gave their No. 1 show. With the exception of a three-second clip and a brief announcement about the show coming back for a sixth season in the fall, Girls was virtually snubbed during the two-hour-plus presentation. A network source says they had planned to show a lengthy preview of the show's four-star season finale (airing that night), but time constraints led them to cut it at the last minute. Funny how "time constraints" didn't prevent them from parading Fran Drescher out on stage for a torturous 10-minute comedy bit. I haven't seen such a mass exodus from an auditorium since opening night of Good
