Lauren Lake: Paternity Court is entertaining and empowering. The stories are real and the emotions are raw. The reaction to the "a-ha" moment of the DNA results is only one revelation. I also help our guests figure out how to move forward now that they know the truth.

Lake: That we're their favorite show, the best show on television and that our ratings continue to soar.

Lake: That they haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
TV Guide Magazine: What's an alternate title for your show?
Lake: Maternity Court, because we've found that many of the paternity secrets are the result of the mother's poor choices.

Lake: Judge Judy + Maury + 1/2 Oprah + Two and Half Men
TV Guide Magazine: Come up with a premise for the spin-off.
Lake: Paternity Court: After the Results or Family Court.
TV Guide Magazine: If you weren't producing this show, what series would you most like to be an executive producer on?
Lake: A relationship makeover show.
TV Guide Magazine: Tell us an idea that didn't make it on to the screen.
Lake: We have caught people trying to lie to get onto the show.
TV Guide Magazine: Finish this sentence: "If you like _______, you'll love our show."
Lake: Maury.
TV Guide Magazine: Pick another show, any show, to start a fake feud with.
Lake: We're just the "little show that could," so if any of the big boys and girls want feud with us... GAME ON!
TV Guide Magazine: What other show would you like to do a cross-over episode with — and how would that go?
Lake: Dr. Phil. After people hear the results, we and our behind-the-scenes staff work with litigants. But after that, Dr. Phil would give them a further dose of reality.
TV Guide Magazine: How will your show change the face of TV as we know it?
Lake: It brings a responsible angle to the issue of paternity and empowers families to use the truth as a starting point to begin to heal.
